php help with thumbnails

Hi, First off I must say that I love this forum! On my site I use a theme Junkie theme that's called "newswire". This has the timsthumb plugin installed but my site gets all its images in posts from an external domain and the timsthumb does not support this. I've found a plugin called "get-the-image" and I've looked at trying to "install" it on my site but php is like klingon for me.... I know it will take someone that knows php about 5-10 minutes to fix it. Is there anybody who's good at php that I can pay to fix it or tell me what kind of info you need so that you can tell me how to get this working. Thanks in advance! Jute If you know of another plugin/solution to fix this please let me know If this is in the wrong category please move it to the right one.

I'm sure it only takes 5-10 mins, but no guarantee I charge $10/minute, is that ok with you?

Seriously, to me it looks like the script allows you to get pictures from external domains:

    $allowedSites = array(
    'flickr.com',
    'picasa.com',
    'blogger.com',
    'wordpress.com',
    'img.youtube.com',
    );

...if that makes any sense to you just add the sites you grab images from to that list. I haven't tested it, so let us know if you get it working or not!

      Hi Manfred,

the problem is not that I can't get the images, the problem is that they do not "go" were I want them to and they are not in the size that I want them to....

      Cheers

      Jute

Hmm... What does they do not "go" were I want them to mean?

Not the correct location on your servers file system and/or on the website?

...and what is wrong with the resizing? Is it random, or the proportions are wrong or something else?

The problem is this. I use a theme that auto pulls thumbnails from the posts but for this to work the images must be uploaded to the server and the images must be inserted into the posts manually.

I am trying a amazon auto store script that I bought here at the forum with this theme that looks great except that it does not pull the images from the posts automatic. I've inserted the "get-the-image" plugin and typed in the lite code snip that it wants me to do but I do not know just were to paste it and what functions to include in this code. I get the image to show up on the index overview of the posts but it to big and it's next to the mock image that says "image pending" and I want the image that is taken from the post by get-the-plugin to replace the "image pending" image and to be correct in size.

I hope you understand what I mean....

      Thanks for taking your time!
