I'm having a problem getting my screen shots in the window
of a few tools .I've tried camtasia, autoshow,web Snapshots......
I seems as if the targeted webpage is just to wide. how can I reduce
the targeted page to fit the window. Can you suggest a tool or tip?

    You can try Jing. www .jingproject.com/
    It allows you to capture a window, pane or specific region.

    Jing is great and the price is right! Otherwise Snagit (from TechSmith, same makers of Jing) offers a wealth of features.

    It's a commercial product but there is a fully functional free trial.

    Ike - I'm a little fuzzy on just what you're trying to do here, but if the website you're looking at is too wide, you can easily resize your browser window or just capture the section of the webpage you need to work with.

    Not sure if it'll help here, but I use the ScreenGrab plugin for Firefox that's great for quick screen caps.

    Not many people realize that window screen capturing is already built into windows! Try holding down "Alt" while pressing the "Print Screen" key. Only the actively focused window will be captured (like the top most web browser).

    Not go and press "Paste" in your favorite software... Word, Publisher, Paint.net, etc..

    P.S. I suppose this post assumes you're on a windows machine. If you're on a mac, I have no idea. ;-)

    To me, it sounds as if the actual web page is bigger than the browser window?

    If that is the case, you need to use Firefox with the Fireshot-plugin. It lets you capture the entire page without any clipping due to window size.
