We bought a template to use on a clean install of OsDate v2.5 from http://www.osdatetemplates.net/
the only install instructions provided were:

Install Notes:

1. Replace the index.php and init.php files from the replace.zip archive with the ones on the main osdate script folder.

2. Make sure you set the Number of last new profiles to be displayed on home page in admin to be less 7 or less.

I'm sorry but that simply isn't enough info.

... am I to understand we're to unzip the folder, and manually upload (overwriting the existing file) from the folder on our hard drive to the index.php and init.php files via FTP

am I even close in this assumption?

What are we to do with the remaining files ???

thanks gang

I suppose there is a zip folder name 'replace.zip' in your source file and there is another folder name 'script' on your server.

My understanding is that you need to unzip the replace.zip folder on your harddisk first and in there you should find two files 'index.php' and 'init.php'.

Upload the two files to 'script' folder on your server using ftp and if the same files is already inside your script folder, it should be overwritten.

    2. Make sure you set the Number of last new profiles to be displayed on home page in admin to be less 7 or less.
I suppose you can find how to set this option somewhere at your user control panel once you've login.

For most web hosting you should load all other files under 'public_html' or 'htdocs' folder. This is what we known as root folder, to confirm you're seeing the root folder, you should be able to find a file name index.html in it.

if you have one hosting account with only one domain sitting on it, then you should load the rest of the files here (your root folder).

If you add on some other domains to your hosting account, normally the secondary domain would be sitting in a folder with the same name as your domain name. Hope this helps
