im stressed and need help-please help

PROGRAMMING

Hey Team,

I need to edit a header in a word press theme, i cant get file zilla to connect to my website.

I must be doing something wrong- please help

Basicalyl i open up file zilla, click on new site, put my domain name in, i chose normal, username not sure? password not sure?

I cant get it to connect, is it the password i use to login into the wordpress login area for that domain?

Please help if you can

No, FTP access is different than your wordpress credentials (unless you purposely set it up that way)

Contact your host, and ask them for your credentials. Its what you use to get into your hosting account. port is 21

  YES! Your hostgator username and password is what you use for Filezilla FTP access

  here's how you do it:
  
  Open FileZilla. Click File, then Site Manager...you are going to create a new site so click that...
  
  then on the right under host put in your domain name without the http://
  ie: karenblundell.com
  
  Server Type: FTP
  
  Logon Type: Account
  
  User: Your Hostgator user id
  Password: Your Hostgator password
  
  account: your domain name without the http://
  again
  
  then click connect...
  
  you will then see a split screen:
  
  the left side is your computer directories and the right is your server...when you connect you will be at the root of your server, and you'll want to be in your public_html directory, so click on it to navigate into it...
  
  that's it...now you can upload/download to your heart's content.
