Does anyone know what this is???

Hello Warriors,

I don't even know if this is the place to post this question, so I apologize right off the bat.

I need to know if there is any type of script that is available that can be created or purchased that allows users to edit their own web page on my main site.

For example, I need the script to run on my domain where each month my company will be "ghost writing" the content and information; however my users will then go to a form where they can upload their picture and several areas of the webpage to make it look like their own. Essentially I am ghost writing for my members, and they are editing information to make it look as though it is their own webpage.

Once they add in the information they want, the submit it, and the script automatically creates them their own url on my main site.

Currently I have them fill out a form, and then we edit their pages manually...I know there has got to be a better way.

Please let me know, or point me in the right direction.
Thank you
Craig

It is possible that buddy press might be a good fit, however, I suspect that you need a custom build with your specific needs in mind. still I think it is a good starting point.
have a look and good luck.

Thanks Tim, this is very interesting, but not exactly what I need, but it has opened my eyes to some other possibilities. So I thank you very much.

What I need basically makes my users look like they developed the web page themselves. They use the page to send to their list, contacts, network, etc.

My company teaches our clients to harness their current list, or network to build their current business through referrals, but we also create the content for them to send to their list, but leave our company name off of it completely, this allows our users to send out their web page link as if it is really theirs, not through our service. We do this each month for our users, so the information is always being updated, but is mostly hands off for our users except for the small edits they want to add to it, like their name and contact information, local news, personal messages, etc.

      Thank you again

You might try searching Google for "social networking scripts". Tons of those types of scripts out there. You might have to modify it a little to get it to do exactly what you want, though.

          No not exactly.

Picture having a web page designed for you with articles/content ready to go. The articles are on the page, but do not have any author, or advertisements. You would then fill out a form with your information and that page would update in certain areas with your edits. The articles we write for you are there too, making it seem as though you are the owner of the page itself, as though you wrote it, designed it, and now are sending the page to your contacts.

Does that make sense...it is easy for me to explain in my head....not so easy to write down LOL

Store all the edits in a database, then have the page pull up the details from the DB and fill in as necessary.

Craig. I am also going to say that this sounds like a social networking feature. Not necessarily connecting to other users (friending or following) but creating and customizing your own profile page. Kind of like your profile page on WF - View Profile: eplio . It has a unique URL with your username in it and it's customizable by you - Message text, links, etc. Right?
Major Content Management Systems out there all have configurable extensions (plug-ins) to implement this functionality. Joomla CMS with Community Builder extension is what I have used and highly recommend.

Yes I would agree it is like a social networking site, just not as robust. All it really is an one page webpage/site that I want to be able to allow our members to update. For example if there were 4 sections of content areas, 2 areas would be created by my company, the other 2 areas would be editable by my customers. They would update a personal message, or something along those lines.

I played around with the code I found on that forum and it seems to do what I need it to do, but it is very rudimentary. I am not a coder, so I am not familiar with how to get it exactly how I want.

I do want to say thank you to everyone here who has offered their suggestions and comments. I really appreciate it

    Craig
