Has anyone tried bbPress?

I wanted to know if it is any good? If not what are some alternatives that can easily be integrated on a self hosted wp blog?

    BBPress is a very elegant and powerful forum system which is written in PHP and mySQL.
    BBPress has a very good integration with WordPress which helps us to get the full power and functionality of both these systems.

    I prefer PHPBB than BBPress.. PHPBB has lot more features and powerful than BBPress...

    I haven't used BBPress but hve seen some of the forums made with it. They look limited with less features...

      That's what I was wondering about. I know it has far lesser features than the rest out there but I thought because bbpress has more plugin/s support so maybe it could work just as well with the right gadgets loaded.

      I'll poke around some plugins to see if it really can offer anything comparable.

    I just started using Simple-Press. I absolutely love it. It instantly integrates with wordpress. If you want an example, check out my WP Forum link below. The site only took about a day to set up. You can have the forum up, customized, and ready to go in a matter of hours. Much better than the alternatives IMO

      BBpress is a forum software which you can install on your server that has it's own database to store information. With it you could create a website like this one, although i'd suggest phpbb myself. BB stands for "Bulletin Board"

Also, what bothers me about BBPress is that it does not look at all like a forum. It's just not very intuitive, looks more like a complex commenting system.
