freelancer.com, anyone use em? need a programmer for simple job

PROGRAMMING

Hey guys, has anyone used freelancer.com, I signed up ages ago, but never really used it... I just remember it being very cheap, compared to odesk.

Is it ok? I'm looking for a simple web programming job.

I've used them a few times. For the most part, I'd give my experience a 5 out of 10 at best...until recently, I've found some great programmers that NO, I will not share but saying, I have found some good people on there

Actually, your questions are VERY valid mate! Like I said, I've had some so-so experiences, in particular article rewriting but when it comes to programming experience, so far top notch! (keep in mind, that's just me).

So, I definitely would give more "thumbs up" based on my experience but I guess it depends on what you're after.

Overall, I'd trust the site

Make sure to always use the milestone payments, and check the bidders feedback before awarding a project, there are a lot of scammers on freelancer.

  There're many websites like this one (elance, guru etc...). You can get a great deal but you need to be careful...some are sooooo bad
  
  If you find a good team...keep them for a long time. It took me a while to find my team and I wouldn't change. they know what I want and I know how they work!
  
  If they seem too enthusiasm and set unrealistic goals...think twice.
