How Do I Create A .csv File?

Hello,

I was looking into an eMail Manager program and instead of
adding eMails manually, I thought I should create a .csv file
to get my eMail list uploaded faster. Since I had NO clue on
how to create the file, I Googled around and found several
'How To's' on the subject.

Not one of them helped... at all. I just can't figure it out.
These tutorials or tips I was reviewing all assumed in some
way the viewer knew certain language or they just left out
certain key step-by-step help.

I don't have Excel as it has expired.

Can someone please get me a simple step-by-step way of
setting up the list with eMails so I can upload them to the
program?

I just don't get it. I know I'm doing something technically
wrong. It's been a few weeks now, but I think I recall
hearing things about commas, spaces, brackets or some-
hing like that. Whatever version I tried to upload, it didn't
work!

It would sure be nice to get some help!

Thank you,

    LastWarrior,

Does the email program state the format that the file needs to be in?

A csv is basically a plain text file with lines of text delimited by commas, example:

    whoopi,goldberg,whoopi@email.com
    tom,hanks,tom.hanks@email.com

    ...

The email program is probably expecting fields in a specific order.

Yes, that's what I gather too. It's the order that I never know
because I've never been shown an actual example of several
emails listed at one time, so the order, if those extras are
available is something I don't know about. I was shown no
specific order as to how to list the emails.

      timpears,

I did find that as an option when I was looking for help, but
didn't want to download the large file and have it on my
computer due to the fact I thought I saw several different
easier options. Looks like I may have to go that route.

Programs expire when their time allotted has passed or the
      trial period has ended.

      Thanks for the help.

Download Open Office at OpenOffice.org - The Free and Open Productivity Suite and select 'I want to download... This is a free MS Officee clone and works damn good. Use their spread sheet program and put the email addresses into the cells and when you save it, select csv. All that is, is a Comma Separated Values file.

I have not used Open Office in years as I have MSO, so you might have to find your own way with the program. I am going off of memory. But I don't see how it could have changed any.

    How does Excel expire?
