Wordpress Adsence placement

After trying many plugins, and not getting what I want I'm turning to imbedding the code into my blog.

I want to create two side by side 250 x 250 adsense ads right after the first post on the main page.

It seems simple enough but can't figure it out. :rolleyes:

    Are you making changes to the index.php file? If so, then you will need to add code inside the posts loop and after the content of the posts.

      Where is the posts loop? Which edit file?

      I may be switching to Thesis, do you know if there is a solution there?
