Need Help With Using camstudio

I'm new to Camstudio and not exactly sure how to record what I want. I have created a powerpoint and want to record audio over it. When I put the ppt in slideshow mode it takes up the whole screen -- so I tried starting the recording first (and using the hide option) and then starting the slideshow. But now I have recorded starting the slideshow. Do I have to edit that out (and if yes how do I do that????) or is there an easier way I haven't stumbled upon yet? Many thanks for any advice.

    Yes, you will need to edit that out, you can use something like Windows Movie Maker or you could go a little more advanced
