Need Help for Subdomain URL Masking and Redirect...

Hi, Warriors
I plan to use a subdomain for a landing page of a new niche because currently my hosting is limited regarding domain add-ons. I'd like to ask your opinions about this....

Let's say :
1. I have a main domain i.e. 123.com
2. I want to build a subdomain corset.123.com
3. But I'm afraid it doesn't look professional, so I buy a new domain "makeyourowncorset.com"....

And here's my plans...but just in my head. And I'm stupid at techie codes  :
1. I'd like to forward "makeyourowncorset.com" to "corset.123.com". I don't host "makeyourowncorset.com" because the hosting company limit me from adding more domains.
2. I want my visitors and my future JV partners to see "makeyourowncorset.com" in their browser [URL masking]....NOT the subdomain URL.

My questions :
1.any idea how to make it happen?
2.is URL forwarding = URL redirect?
3. Any pros and cons if I use this way?

any reply is highly appreciated. Thanks

I would suggest that you look at either upgrading your current hosting or look at another like HostGator. You can get an unlimited number of add on sites for under $10 per month.

    2. I want my visitors and my future JV partners to see "makeyourowncorset.com" in their browser [URL masking]....NOT the subdomain URL.
You can redirect a domain name via your registrar to point to your sub domain but the "redirected" domain name will not appear. Which is what you don't want.

So, change your hosting as it's the only practical solution!

i think that the sub-domains are limited to a certain number but you can get the information from your host.

Why would you want to jump thorough so many hoops?

Just get another hosting account or upgrade your current plan. If you are cash-strapped, there are many free webhosts that you can use until you can upgrade to a full account.

I started with free hosting when I first started out. It wasn't pretty but it got the job done.

    All the best!

    Cheers,
    Ash

You really need to either upgrade your hosting account to allow for more add on domains or get another web hosting account.

If you are using GoDaddy as your domain registrar, go to the domain manager, and select makeyourowncorset.com. Then select forwarding and select advanced options. Enter the subdomain for the forwarding address and then select Masking.

If you are using some other registrar, there should be something similar.

That being said, I agree a better solution is to transfer to Hostgator or other host that allows add on domains or upgrade your current host. If you get a new Baby account with Hostgator they will transfer your existing site for free.
