Advice needed please

Hi
Can someone please advice me on which is the best and safest software to create an ebook. I've finished my book and need to now turn it into an ebook.

My plan is to launch it by November 30th and I'm busy creating a new website, ebook software is getting me behind with my plans. Any advice gratefully received.:confused::confused:

        As stated above microsoft word will export the doc as a pdf. if you don't have word then open office is a free alternative.

          First I'd like to thank you all for your answers.

          I'm looking for something that would help turn my ebook into a product that cannot be copied in any way, I've tried both word and open office and they don't give me what I'm looking for.:confused:

    Write up your eBook in Microsoft Word. The latest versions of word will convert the word documents to PDFs. A couple clicks and your eBook is ready to go.

        Maybe late to the game, but you might also look into primopdf application... It adds the ability to print to pdf. Its really handy for printing online purchases to pdfs to keep track of them. I imagine the same thing would be handy for printing documents into pdf format too

      Adobe Acrobat (not Acrobat Reader) let's you create PDFs and has all the bells and whistles including security. You may want to purchase a copy.

      I'm not sure what your distribution plans are (from your website, Amazon, etc..) but if you will be publishing from somwhere like Amazon you may want to read up on the formats they use for submission.

    If you want to keep your book simple in appearance then copy all the contents in Word. Newer version of Word allows you to convert word document into PDF.
    If you want your e-book look attractive then use Ebookswriter. It is stuffed with many features.
