How do I increase the quality on PDF documents when I convert them from Word?

Hi! I'm currently writing a eBook in Microsoft Word with a lot of graphical examples (images). But when I convert it to a PDF file, the quality on the images are BAD... Do anyone know how I can increase the quality? :confused:

if your using ms word 2k7 or later, use the option to publish the doc directly as pdf or use pdf creator, which can be better depending on the knowledge you have about pdfs.

Yes, I use MS Word 2007 to convert to PDF. But the quality su**s.

try this PDFCreator | Free Business & Enterprise software downloads at SourceForge.net, else you need to replace those images they might be of low quality, PM me..

  This is a little vague but it might help give you somewhere to go with this...
  
  Two things to watch.
  
  1. Make sure that you scale any images in your graphics program prior to inserting them into your document. It's best to NOT have (cough cough splutter splutter ) Word do it.
  
  As an aside: The same applies to images on websites. Make them the size you want them to be. Except for cases where your Website Program ( ie Wordpress ) will create thumbnails etc for you from a larger image....
  
  2. When you are converting to PDF, see if you can change the settings on the compression etc. I'm not sure how this works for what you've used....
  
  If using OpenOffice - the best choice is to use the Export as PDF option in the File Menu as this gives you a lot of control over the compression and DPI etc...
  
  Have a play with it and see what works best.

If you are converting directly I dont think there is a way to increase quality of your pdf document

Try importing the document to adobe illustrator, then increase the resolution of the pfd pages one by one. This will be very time consuming, but u an get hing res pdf files.
