          Interesting post.. I've never used SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS and FOUND_ROWS(); together as It's not something I've crossed paths with till now...

          I've just had a play in my MySQL command console ( sounds fancy) and replicated what you found.

          It's grand that you figured it out...

          I'll have to throw you a thanks Terry... now I can soup up my pagination functions.
