    Not sure if you are asking about device OS or for building inactive apps. But since you are SEO-oriented I bet it's the later.

    I think HTML5 will win out in the app space. The barrier to entry is low vs learning app programming. But the biggest issue is that an HTML5 'app' is not subject to Apple's rules and controls. For example, in the apps payment processor.

    The app-store app does have push notification which are a huge plus for marketers - but like all good things on the web they are becoming a victim of spam.
