Is there a way to zip a wp theme so the plugins and widgets will be in place upon installing it? I just had a big brain f**t and can't remember how!
Thanks in advance -

No you can't just zip the theme up and have all the plugins and widgets set the same, those settings are all stored in the database and the plugins are separate from the theme as well. So you would need to transfer everything in order to be able to accomplish this.

Just save a list of installed plugins, save it somewhere. When you need it you can have it. That the best answer right now.

WPTwin saves your entire Wordpress site into a zip file which you can then download. It includes all the Wordpress site, so this includes the themes, plugins etc.

It is also very easy to restore or even place it on another site.

      Highly recommended.
