Hello. How do I make my website writable? I've gone through a few websites and they all suggest me to login using my FTP client and edit the stuffs from there.

BUT I don't think I gone through this FTP thing when I created my website. I downloaded Leecher FTP and tried to login to my website from there and it won't let me log in.

Any help would be great.

    Hello akazzz,

Where did you create your website, do you have paid hosting?

What is your domain name and what files do you want to make writable?

These information will help me to assist you further.

    Greetings

One solution would be to have a copy of your website on your desktop so you can make the edits using your favorite editor like Notepad++ or whatever you like. After making the modifications just upload the modified script/scripts using FTP.

You can do like the previous poster said, create/edit a HTML site and upload same via FTP. You'll need your hosting account logins, though.

Or install WordPress, and you can create and work on your website right from your browser.

You probably write wrong username. Be sure of that if you have hosting your username could be like this username[at]yourwebsitename.com

Your hosting company should have sent you a userid and password along with the IP address of your site when you signed up for your account. You'll need that information to access your site from your ftp software.

If you don't have that information or if you're having trouble logging in, I would suggest you contact their support desk to have them help you get access.
