I prefer one-on-one interviews in order to understand what the lawyers need in the software.

The primary functionality they are expecting to be the foremost of the software and as well as, the work they do on the stored information.

Categories and fields are chosen based on the requirements that you gathered from your clients.

PM me if you get stuck.

    Design 101
Step1: Ask the client what they want

Step3: Always renegotiate if the client wants something not specified in the signed specification.

Do you have a contract with a law firm or just looking to create something that you think law firms will buy?

I suggest you write a longer description of what you are looking for. If you don't normally write in English, you could write in your native language and use Google translator to translate it.

    Best Wishes,

There are already lots of software products custom made for law firms - you should consider buying something off the shelf for them when you know their needs.

I think different firms may have a different requirement . But if you want to create a software in general useful to all the law firms you should have interviews with the firms to know what work they sually do so that u can replicate in your programming. In any case i would suggest interviews will help to know what u have to do

What programming environment are you looking to use? Is this a desktop or web app?
