Dreamweaver is breaking my site

I have started to use dreamweaver on one of my websites but all I do is edit a h1 tag on a page and it throws the whole theme out and I cant get it back without reloading it all. I cang work out why.

I have tried the preferences for not rewriting code and unticked all and then not loading linked files but it's still doing it

    You mention a "theme". What type of website are you editing?
    Are you editing the theme files?
    Are you editing the files locally or on the web?

    No, Literally all i am editing is a heading tag. It is because dreamweaver is editing other files that it shouldn't be.

    Not sure why it is doing this, i have tried to Google the answer but i can't seem to solve it
