iGoogle and Godaddy

My roofer uses iGoogle for all his email accounts for his salesman/managers. Everytime you set up a new account it causes major problems with sending/receiving emails. The domain/hosting is set up through Godaddy. You call Godaddy and they say the MX records is the issue. Even when the MX records correct , the issue still exists. You can retrieve emails in Godaddy but not through the normal email my client uses . This makes it difficult b/c he is a storm chaser and his email is tied in to his phone/ipad. He doesn't always have time to go straight to Gmail to get this corrected. Last time, the issue finally worked itself out. Does anyone have any pointers that could help correct the issue?

    Yeah, stop using GoDaddy for DNS. Use a dedicated DNS provider like DNSMadeEasy where you can set your own MX records instead of begging customer support reps to do it right.

    better advice just move all your domains away from worthless GoDaddy..
    Go to namecheap or internetbs they are way better.

    Better prices, easier domain managing, faster domain changes. Don't kill elephants and do care about your privacy.

    rolltide: Are you familiar with DNS Propagation? The principles of the internet prevent MX record changes from taking effect immediately. But a fair amount of my clients use GoDaddy for their domains, us for hosting, and Google Apps for email. I've helped them configure it many times, without issues. Maybe try mxtoolbox to see what's going on..?

    Luckily after 4 tries, finally found someone at Godaddy that knew what they were doing.


    I hate Godaddy customer support. Hostgator is so much better. I try to switch clients away from Godaddy as often as possible. Their support is normally a nightmare to say the least.
