twitter api user info

i have a website with user registration what would be the best way to add twitter user data to there profile page on my website , would it be to get them to sign up with there twitter name on registration page, but can they still use a different password for my site than twitter site, and if so will i still be able to get their profile stats

    You can only get user data that the user allows. If you're not a programmer, look into services like Janrain.
