Help WP Robot - "Rotencode"

I have a licensed copy of WP Robot.

I have updated to the latest copy.

I have read the internet posting from other reporting code problems with WPRobot. All of them say to "upgrade" -- which I have.

There is nothing else I can find so I am turning to the board for advice.

On every site that I have been installing WPRobot on, everything works fine for a few days. When I check stats, I notice that particular sites have NO traffic registered. When I visit the site, the only message I get is:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function rotencode() in /home/filelocation/public_html/wp-content/plugins/WPRobot3/wprobot.php on line 220
NOTHING works when this code arises. I must FTP into the site and delete WPRobot for the site to work again and allow me to access both the site and the WP-admin.

It is frustrating, to say the least. No other auto-blogging plugins offer what WPRobot does ... but if it keeps crashing websites, I certainly can't use it.

Does anyone have ideas about what causes this? It has occurred with different themes, and with different plugins in place. I have not found a common denominator.

And I didn't post it on the WPRobot site because all posts regarding this error message are closed and redirected to the "you need to upgrade" post.

Thanks!

I also found the thread about blaming it on the host. I am trying that as well.

    Hi,

It might be file permission error. Try to set the file permission for ....WPRobot3/wprobot.php to 755 or better 777. Usually i would make the entire folder permission to be accessible in case the hosting will auto reset the permission code.
    Hope it helps. Cheers.

      Hi, thanks for the comments.

I tried complaining with the server (Turnkey Internet) and that got nowhere fast.
I tried with the software writer and that also got nowhere.

So I did a few things.
      1. Replaced WPRobot with other autobloggers. Even though I think WPR has some better features, I can't use a plug in that causes sites to crash.

      2. Found that I had ONE site on Turnkey running WPR and was not crashing. Can't figure rhyme or reason why. Can't determine what is different about the site.

      3. Installed WPR on one site and configured the permissions as suggested in this thread. I will run a few tests to determine if certain autoposting setups are causing the crash.

On 12-9, I added WPR to the one site as I stated and adjusted the permissions ... so far, as of 12/17/12, the site is still working correctly ...
