Adding automatically the latest news head lines on a website

Hey guys
Am not sure if this can be done that's why am asking.
I want to intergrade on my home page the most important and latest local news of the day,with articles taken from local new parer sites.
Is there such a way to do so ?
not manually but something similar with the weather widgets for websites.
Just to add some more interesting additions to my site.

    If the local news website provide the API of there news then you can use those to fetch the news, and if they dont then you can Crawl the new from the website by using customize automation program. By this way you can keep your home page updated daily.

    Yes... Most news sites offer RSS feeds for the latest news. You should look into using jquery to integrate the RSS news. It's rather easy...
