How can I remove this graphic ?

(A technical question rather than a programming one
but we don't appear to have a technical forum)

Every once in a while the graphic below
appears on my desktop (Windows 7) - exactly
as shown

There's no link, it's not clickable, left
and right mouse clicks have no effect, it's
not resizable. All I can do is move it.
So I move it to a corner of the desktop
where only the tip is showing.

The only way to totally remove it is to restart windows.

Does anyone have other ideas ?

Thanks

    Harvey,

Go to Start Menu > Run, then type msconfig and click 'OK'. Then under the 'Startup' tab, check to see if there's anything called HP Auto Update (or something similarly named). If there is, uncheck it.

If there's nothing there, then check the 'Programs and Features' section in the control panel (if it's there, you can simply uninstall it like a regular program).
