Wrong home page loading in WP--after re install

Hi warriors,

I have been playing with a new theme and got in a tight spot that I could not figure a way out of and so I just re-installed WP and the theme. The problem is when I created a new home page and opened a separate window to load the url, I got a message saying not found and a menu with two home pages on it.

It seems pretty unlikely that this can be fixed from WP controls and I will have to delete a file somewhere in my cpanel file manager. But I looked in there and don't have any idea what to look for.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, the site is localsearchleads dot com.

Thanks in advance!

Sean

Double check your "Appearance --> Menu" settings.
You likely have to reassign the menu to the theme.
Also make sure you have that new "Home" page set as the static front page under settings (if that's what you want for the static home page).

Thanks for responding dave, not sure the menu screen is going to help with this theme intallation. here is the screen I get:

    <a target='_blank' title='ImageShack - Image And Video Hosting' href='http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/19/wpmenulocalbiz.png/'><img src='http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/5170/wpmenulocalbiz.png' border='0'/></a><br>Uploaded with <a target='_blank' href='http://imageshack.us'>ImageShack.us</a>

Maybe the extra menu is hidden in the files of the first installation. Hoping someone can help me find where that is so I can delete it.

I don't see that your theme has WPv3+ menus built in.
    However...
Click the "Screen Options" tab and make sure it is not deselected.
    What is your new theme?
And yes, when you do not assign a menu, most themes will show a default menu.
and whenever you change themes you need to reset/reassign the menus.

According to your screenshot it look like your using the WPlocalBiz theme.
Yes, they do use WPv3+ menus.
You need to create and assign the menus.
    See their help vid.
