Can You Please Help Me: WordPress Twenty Thirteen, Thesis or Something Else?

Hi all I am building a customized word press blog. I know what I need and have seen the plug ins for this however before starting I would like to know what is the best option.

The way I see it I have 3 options (please tell me If I am wrong I am new to WP).

1) DO I go with the current WP them Twenty Thirteen, customize from there...
2) Go with something like Thesis (or other manager)
3) Find a theme as close to what I want (if there is one) and make minor changes.

    Go for the 3rd option , search a theme matching your requirements and make some minor tweaks over there so that i looks exactly according to your needs .

    Hi there,

    I concur - go with the third option. The path to a finished site is much shorter and there are tons of people who can assist you in modifying widgets and plugins - you can find them by the dozen on guru.

    Find a theme you like and that close and just tweak it. Much quicker that way

    Be very careful using "free wordpress theme" websites. They typically place malicious code or make it extremely difficult to remove their ads by base64'ing code and obfuscating it.

    I would stick to extremely cheap themes in the $10-30 range or use the free themes from WordPress.org.

    WordPress Jobs | WordPress related Job Postings has a pretty good source of inexpensive labor as well if you need anything customized.
