    I would recommend developers.android.com. If you're looking to do a simple, cross-platform app, I would recommend using Sencha (sencha.com) and PhoneGap (phonegap.com) which are built in HTML, Javascript, and CSS.

    Why not just start with an on-line app builder that has 99% of the functions you need ready made for both iOS and Android?

    Then develop your own custom code and additions as and when you need them.
