Hello warriors I have one question and maybe you can help me out. I have been working long time with websites etc but never came to this issue. I would like to know if it is possible to host one website on 2 servers. So for example I will have www...examplewebsite...com with content hosted on my primary server but I would like to add forum to my website that will be hosted on different server with different hosting company. So when people come to my website they can go to www...examplewebsite...com/forum but they will stay on same website. Is this bad practice for SEO? Can it be done easily? When people go to forum would I be able to have links www...examplewebsite...com/forum/thread-name
Thanks for your help!

I don't see how you could have a subdirectory on a different server.

You could set up a subdomain on forum.domain.com but My preference would be to put it all on a single server.

This could be done with Linux servers but you probably need the same hosting company. The other option is a subdomain. Main site is something like http://www.mydomain.com and the stuff on the other server is http://s2.mydomain.com

This would be very simple and straightforward to setup.

Well you can actually use a subdirectory and use a simple rewrite and redirect to have it function properly.

    Hi,

    This is actually very easy.
Assuming both servers are cpanel, you just add forum.yourdomain.com as a new account on the new server, and it will just work.
However, you will need to create the A record of forum.yourdomain.com to point to the right server which manages your DNS.
