Groovy/Grails is this really professional tool??

Hey Guys..
I am just looking to learn HTML5, PHP, CSS, Jquery, Javascript & Groovy, the person who is teaching me telling that groovy is mostly used by professional and groovy is really good to use and he is telling that you must learn groovy to learn everything!!
I don't have any knowledge about groovy even i haven't listened about it before :p
just let me know if groovy is really good & it is really using by professionals & really it has a good scope in future??

    Yes Groovy and Grails is used in professional web development.
    Even if i doubt that it is so easy to maintain the code as all of the developers pretend.

    Groovy/Grails is used on professional sites, however if your site requires a lot of customization there tends to be more development work that most expect. Also if you ever take significant amounts of traffic (> 10 TPS per JVM instance ) most teams I have seen use it tend to run into some Java Garbage collection and memory issues they end up have to work around.
