capture keyboard keycodes in cobol

PROGRAMMING

How to capture KeyCodes with COBOL? !have programmed in Cobol for many years and have tried many ways to capture these codes to identify keystrokes. I don't really think there IS a way to capture the key number codes without a more base language, but I hope I'm wrong and there is some bright person out there with an answer to my problem.
