Changing the year in a webpage title

Does anyone know anything about changing the TITLE tag of your webpage and the resulting consequences for SEO?

For example I have a page with TITLE "Best Gizmos and Doodahs for 2014"

So the URL will end in /best-gizmos-and-doodahs

Next year I will obviously want to change TITLE from 2014 to 2015. I could create a separate page but if the existing page has accumulated PR I don't want to lose that necessarily.

Does Google et al. penalise for this stuff do you know?

Thanks.

im no expert but i dont think changing the 4 to 5 will make much difference as google decides which parts of your title to show

personaly i would and have had the same issue as you i designed an archive with the relevent years next to each item in sub pages, so can you not do the same and carry out the same seo work you did for 2014 on 2015? and let users browse your archives, thus creating more content that is unique to your website

im sure others will give you some clarity here, im no expert just my pennys worth which has worked with me
