A Drop After Trying to Speed Up a Website

This thing has been bugging me for some time and I decided to pick the brains of you guys here.

Something like a month ago partner & I tried to increase the speed of the website by implementing some of these methods 10 Ways to Speed Up Your Website

The next day we woke up realizing that the analytics code was gone as a result of something we did (see that dip in the image, that's the one day). We somehow managed to get the website back to how it was before but from that day on the website was never the same as you can see.

Now, the drop towards the end is the result of Panda-Giraffe-Update_Whatever Google has done over the past few weeks (again, don't know why because the website is completely "white" if there is such a thing).

But what I am interested is the drop that happened a month ago. If there is anybody with an idea what to look for, I would highly appreciate it.

My mind is boggling and I cant think of anything...

It's impossible to attempt to diagnose unless you can point someone in the direction of exactly what you've done. "Some of these methods" doesn't really paint a clear picture.

That's like saying "I made some backlinks" or "I installed some plugins" - there's just no information there when we are talking about diagnosing a problem.

It's also a case where leaving out a detail could completely change an answer if any were to come, so be descriptive and try to lay it all out on the table, in order, including even things that you might normally consider not to be applicable to the situation.

      You're right,

So the one thing that we did is turning plugins on and off to see any of those was the issue. Didn't think that deactivating and activating the Analytic would interfere with it's function.

We also tried optimizing the images, not sure now, but I think we used WP Smush for that. That interfered with something and the website was even down after activating that. We removed it and everything was working again.

But as I can see, something got s... up and can put my finger on what it was.

During those days, we also slowly started removing pretty links, but I don't think that's it, because we did it gradually and during that time the website was steady at this new found lower point.

I hope that clarifies a thing or two...
