hello friends,

I found this topic on web 2.0 (link:Learn The Web 2.0 Backlink Method | Affilorama). To be honest it's first time for me when i using web 2.0 to rank my website, so i have questions about this method.

1) does web 2.0 still works??
2)For example: if i make three articles and post it on Squidoo, hubpage, and blogger, can i make three good backlinks??
3) is it necessary to use twitter account in order to make those link spidered??

ps: What do you thing is web 2.0 worth of trying or just keep searching some good guest posting website??

In the mix of other things such as guest posting, outreach, pbn's, yes.
    On their own, no.

    That's the extreme short answer

Mixed backlinks are more reliable for ranking and web 2.0 is one of them that works well.

Is it that people can't read, or that people don't read?

Don't take it personally. Just yesterday he was offering to help someone with web 2.0 links like he was an expert personally via PM, and today he's saying it's his first time...

      So consider your audience jinx.

He caught my attention a week or two ago. I largely ignored it but snickered when I read him offering someone private advice yesterday given what I knew about his experience level. As you can see, I didn't address him then and really had no plans to follow up any further.

When I saw today's post and series of replies it went from snicker to an actual laugh-out-loud moment.

For the most part I don't care too much, but yes, he did decide to put himself on my radar.

Either way, he wasn't worth Jinx getting frustrated - which is who my comment was addressed to.

It's okay guy. I'm not looking to pick a fight with you and if I was I would have done it directly.

You are wrong on a lot of points, but you're newer to the industry and so it's to be expected and it's largely forgivable.

It's clear that you don't have the full picture of things yet, haven't figured out who people are yet, etc. It's your choice how you decide to go about doing that of course...

While people can get over your short comings in terms of knowledge and industry-insight, the one thing people won't look beyond is when you decide to start burning down bridges around you.

So, freak out if you would like to, that's fine but it's what caught my attention initially and what you've done again. If you were just another guy learning his way through the industry I wouldn't have even noticed you.

It's when you act-out that you draw all the attention to yourself that you don't want. You can say whatever you want about my radar, but you are the one who decided to embed yourself in my memory with your behavior.

If I was just looking to be a dick to you, I would have slammed you yesterday but I didn't because I really don't care that much. Giving you an ass-ache does nothing for me, you're not an important influence around here... it would just be me stomping on a little person. So stop being annoying and spastic and you will go on your way with a much more enjoyable forum experience.

... or respond to this with a flaming, screaming fit and just keep being who you are making yourself out to be ... You're choice of course.

This is a completely worthless "Method" that is at least 6 years old. See: https://web.archive.org/web/20081205...acklink-method

That dates back to December 5th, 2008! In other words, the advice in the article is useless crap at this point. Particularly since it is advising creating a giant autoblog link wheel. It's just horrible, horrible advice.

Yes, it still can 'work' in a sense but it's nothing great or special. You would be much better off controlling a real domain to get a backlink out of 9 out of 10 times.

At one point in time, web 2.0 properties were a very workable strategy. Now, they are better used almost exclusively for branding than anything else.

No. Squidoo is nofollow, hubpages MAY be as well - but even if they aren't passing moderation can be a real pain in the ass. You'll end up wasting a lot of time an energy for nothing.

It helps, but not required. Of course, it only helps if the twitter account is frequently crawled itself. Ideally you should have better indexing strategies in place - or just use a real domain as advised above.

Quality guest posting is always better. If you are going to use a guest posting network though, then you aren't really getting anywhere.

I wouldn't bother with that. Social media, yes. Squidoo and the like? No. Just use guest blogging instead.

    1. Web 2.0s work
    2. Yes, 3 good backlinks.
    3. No. Just build links to them and they'll get indexed.
