Analytics and Bouncing

If I have a super-amazing one-page website that entices people to click my contact form, fill it out and then leave the site all within 30 seconds, would Google consider that a bounce? Would they somehow know that the user submitted a query if it was all done using Ajax (or something that doesn't load a second page)?

If not, how long does it take for a session on Analytics to count as a bounce? less than 1 second? 10 seconds?

Thanks.

If people are interacting with the website, I guess it doesn't really matter what Google thinks anyway, does it?!

I really have not seen any solid proof that the bounce rate tracked in Analytics impacts rankings.

The "bounce rate" that Google is more interested in is if they find your site in the SERPs, click on it, and then click back to the SERPs and click on another site.

If someone clicks on your site and leaves without clicking on any other page of your site, it is considered a bounce.

Basically bounce rate is considered as a phenomena wherein user visits the website, and leaves without interaction on any other page or element of the website. As per your case, I dont think this is considered bounce as user does clicks and fills in the inquiry form..

    Hi,

In one way we can say that its a bounce but in your case its different because as you are having only one page in your website then mostly it wont considered as a bounce if you r spending time on that page with out keeping it idle.
