How to get org, edu, gov backlinks?

Good day all,

One question i wish to ask is how to do i get backlinks to any genuine org, edu or gov site?

I have mailed lots of them (continuously for about 2 years now) and am yet to get a good response. Now am thinking, is this really possible using this approach of mailing? Or are there other means which i am ignorant of?

I have seen my immediate competitors have links to their websites on different org, edu, gov site. And they have been enjoying high placements on Google for months/years.

What am i doing wrong or what have i not done to achieve this backlinks?

Please help me (if you do not want to respond here, you can Direct message me too)

N.B: I run a job website (with Google ranking mostly on the 2 page)

    To attain backlinks on .edu, .gov websites the option is to go for forums and blogs for this website register and post on them. This is a good way to get backlinks from such authorative websites...

    In the UK, we have .ac.uk for our education institutions. I have managed to get a few links from just contacting the institutions directly. Have a look and see if there is a department that is relevant to what you offer and write them an email saying why you think your site will help their students.

    You have to find the do-follow gov/edu back-link forum/blog then signup and post content on there forum.

      Am not sure using this approach to get links is recognized by search engines. I may be wrong though

    I dont think gov, edu site from us is easy to attain, you can find gov link from other countries that allow members to join in a forum.

    Let me start by saying that I have never explicitly tried to obtain .edu or .gov backlinks. That said, I have spent many years in sales, and some of that selling required me to close government accounts. And it's always very slow going.

    Even though you're attempting to get them to link to content on the web, I think to get the conversation started you may want to consider using the phone. You'll need to track down the right person to make this happen. (LinkedIn can be helpful) If distance is not prohibitive, see if you can get an in-person meeting.

    These are just my thoughts. Larger-scale agencies are very slow to move, particularly by email.

    You would like to build backlinks TO or FROM .edu and .gov websites?
    I believe you want to get a backlink from such a site... You can use blogs and write a quick comment on a blog, but write it manually!

    It's easier to pass through the eye of a needle than an edu, gov to link back to you.

    Besides, what does it profit a site to link to a worthless edu, gov e.t.c I'm sure you have tried the blog commenting way and it's a total rubbish on your ends and time.

    The best form is to look for a site with SEO value, it doesn't matter if it's a .com.
    And you have the option of guest posting or buying the link.
