Hi

Can someone advice what the best software is to use for competitor analysis that then compiles a nice report to email to a potential client

I've been told spy fu is good but any other suggestions ppl?

    Those types of tools will never give you any real competition data.

    You have to look at the SERPs, double/triple SERP listings per domain/keyword will crush all that 3rd party data. Things like authority supporting internal pages can also null all that basic 3rd party info.

      Something like Screaming Frog will be way more useful for on-page comp. research, then check the external backlink profile but it's still not a replacement for manually checking the SERPs/keywords/competition. It's a whole package of things for doing research, there's no one-stop software doing all the work for competition research.

      Use Adwords Keyword Planner when starting out for finding the keywords, which is the same place Long Tail Pro is pulling it's keyword data (Adwords API).

    Try semrush.com and longailpro.com. That said, nothing beats manual competition research.
