Should you submit your sitemap to google webmaster tools?

I hear you are supposed to use the Google XML Plugin but do you submit it to google as well?

Building my very first one. So any how to suggestions on doing it the safest is much appreciated!

I would never sign a private network site up to Google Webmaster Tools. There is zero reason to do so.

Do not submit your PBN to webmaster tool

Here are some points to consider
    - Be sure that the expired domain you will purchased is not 301 or 302 redirect to other site before or after December 2013
    - Double check the back links if they are still exist
    - Avoid domains with many backlinks that came from blog post comment with large number of external links
    - Post unique and quality content on your PBN blog
    - It's okey to send link to an authority site/page in your niche but not direct competitor
    - Do not add your link right away, wait for at least one week before you add your link
    - Add one link to your main site and one to your inner page. 2 links is enough do not over do it.
    - Add related images and videos
    - Block all SEO Tool websites robots in your robots.txt or .htaccess file

I guess what I mentioned are good start

I wouldn't install any of those. Too many footprints that every other common pbn has.

My personal opinion is everyone else who got penalized with their PBNs are sloppy. Registering domains at same location, getting cheap SEO hosting instead of using multiple hosting providers like godaddy, hostgator, etc and overdoing it. It has to be and look natural.

    MikeFriedman,

    What are your suggestions?

With or without plugins if you done it right your PBNs will work. Just avoid plugins that will leave foot printing if you really need plugins

You can check the source code of your page, sometime in quick scan on the source you will some codes that can easily identify by search engines.

Actually, if you know how to evaluate domains, that doesn't matter. I'm more worried about 301 redirects pointing at the site. I could care less if it was 301 redirected to another site.

Again. This doesn't really matter for a network site.

      That's dumb.

I would only link to one page in most cases, whether it is the home page or an internal page. There are some exceptions. I have some nav links and banner ads on some of my sites linking pretty much from every page in those cases, but those are rare.

I do this with a few sites with Spyder Spanker, but less than 20% of my networks. I would not do this in the robots.txt file (because it is easily ignored and super easy to spot). I would not do it on too many sites. Easy footprint to see.

    Mike,

    So you said:

"I would only link to one page in most cases, whether it is the home page or an internal page. There are some exceptions. I have some nav links and banner ads on some of my sites linking pretty much from every page in those cases, but those are rare."

Does that mean one link per article you put up? Per day, what do you mean one link?

I mean one link on the entire site.

        Mike,

Why would you buy a domain and set up hosting, wordpress etc and only put one link?

So your saying you do that and then your done? Do nothing else with that domain?

So he does not risk getting busted

You don't want to link to multiple sites from your PBN. Some say a couple is fine and others say 1 only. The less you OBL the less chance of getting Google slapped.

You also do not want to link out of every article. You could have 5 articles and maybe link to your site from 2 of them not all 5. Also you can link to some authority sites like wiki etc...

I might link to more than one site in the same niche, but I don't keep linking to the same site over and over again. No point in that and just screams network site.
