SEO Backlink Building Service - How does it work?

There are many SEO companies out there...I have been looking at different services and found out that SEO service is not very transparent, expensive and very little info is found on how it works or how the SEO company operates and what they do for my site. BUT WHY is this?

Especially someone like me who is new to internet marketing and is looking at the next step of building some backlinks needs more attention, advice and reassurance before asking for my cc for payment for such a service. Anybody with experience on SEO please respond!!!!

1. Is there a guarantee of getting more organic traffic trough backlinks? I want to emphasize on ORGANIC. It does not help me to get traffic to my site that is not related to my niche. How do I know that a backlink gives me organic traffic and not just random visitors?
2. Is there an SEO company out there that is actually explaining to me how it works and answers questions (Skype or email is fine) and is not just asking for "payment" and then "5 keywords" and site info.
3. How do SEO companies solve conflict of interest if they have 2 or more clients going for the same keywords in the same niche....sometimes SEO companies give recommendations for keywords.... There would be a conflict of interest or not?

Can anybody recommend an SEO company that actually is reasonable priced, does answer questions, is trustworthy and transparent?

    No there is no guarantee of getting targeted traffic and in fact you might find yourself shut down and delisted if you contract with a company who is using dated and guarded against SEO tactics.

    Many of theses business are leftovers from a time when things like private blog networks, X-rumer spamming and article spinning worked. They don't work so well anymore.

    if you have money to pay for an SEO service, consider putting that into an ad campaign instead, then you can be pretty sure that your visitors will be interested in what you offer.

    So you would not even waste your time and money on building SEO backlinks? I thought this is the next step to move up in ranking....

    Shall I only focus on ad campaigs and unique content and forget about backlinks?

      Don't give up on SEO. It's far more profitable than organic traffic but requires more time and effort to succeed with. You don't need an SEO company to tell you how SEO works before you can succeed with it and get lots of organic traffic.

      You are on an SEO forum. Start learning, experimenting, and asking questions.

        Thanks and I am not giving up but why does no SEO company explains to me what they are actually doing with my site in terms of building backlinks? I can't trust anybody without a good explanations and customer service.

        As mentioned before it is risky and sites have been shut down and delisted with bad SEO service.

        Shall I try to build backlinks myself? Is this what you mean with "You don't need an SEO company to tell you how SEO works. Start learning, experimenting, and asking questions"

        How would I know with which sites to link my site with or sent articles to? I tried that before but no success.

    Can anybody recommend which direction I should go to increase google ranking?

    1. Which ads and where should I place ads to attract organic visitors? How much does first page ads with google cost?
    2. What is your experience with backlinks? Do I need them to increase ranking?
    3. I am adding unique content to my site every other day.
