    Why wouldn't it rank well?

It looks good, but their landing pages are ranked very high for a range of different locations and I don't understand why.

They have included links in the footer, along with good anchor text. But there aren't many inbound links pointing to the pages themselves.

I would love to understand why this is ranked highly. I create decent landing pages, Link them internally and they are on the 5th page?

There doesn't need to be a bunch of links pointing the landing page if you have good internal links. In fact, there doesn't need to even be any if the internal link structure is good.

Even though google says that keyword density isn't a factor anymore, I have noticed sites still rank well that utilize at least some repetition of their main keywords. The site you linked is a good example of that. They have well written copy with their main keywords distributed throughout. The footer links for other areas reinforce it as well. They did a good job peppering their keyword throughout the page and include variations of it: "IT Support Bridgwater" "IT Support in Bridgwater" "IT Solutions" "IT support services" etc - all ways of saying really the same thing but giving the search engine more to grab on to.

How many lame threads are started with a nonsense question, then
    :Let's discuss....do a search here.

Gives the site link, albeit nofollow (perhaps OP did not know), and
    dares people to visit...

    Now, let's discuss THAT!

    What's wrong with footer links?

How is that a landing page? (It's part of the site structure)

Is this part of the forum a landing page?

This was literally the point I let out a little burst of laughter.

I don't understand why people just don't get how internal links work. It's really god damn simple.

No doubt a lot of people overlook internal links. They look at the external backlinks for only the ranked page & stop, when they should also be looking at the other 74 internal pages (in the OP example) backlink profiles. I didn't look at the links for those other 74 internal pages but I'm sure some of those 74 pages have external links pointing at them.

For all we know it could be one or two awesome links doing all the work & being passed down to the OP keyword/page via internal links.

Probably a few similar keywords the OP competition also ranks for which is carrying over to the only keyword OP is concerned about (IT Support Bridgwater).
        • Keyword/Google.co.uk position
        • IT Support Bath/5
        • IT Support Bridgwater/6
        • IT Support Bristol/21
        • IT Support Frome/1
        • IT Support Melksham/6
        • IT Support Swindon/23
        • IT Support Taunton/16
        • IT Support Somerset/5
        • IT Support Wiltshire/18

One more reason it's amusing to see people use IM keyword competition software to look for longtails, most of those guys are surely skipping over decent traffic/competition keywords since they never look beyond the ranked page.

When I see competition ranked with a single page targeting a keyword across the entire domain, I usually count that as a potential keyword I should be targeting.

Have to look at the BIG picture.

Page rank is depends on the quality of link and traffic

Both of you are the reason people leave.

Pagerank is purely based on link equity. That's it. I can sending 100,000 people a hour through links to a site and it will have no effect on pagerank because traffic has nothing to do with pagerank, period.

Very funny . I see posts like that all the time and what amazes me the most is that they don't get deleted.

Right now there will not need to be a lot of hyperlinks directing this webpage when you have very good internal hyperlinks. In truth, presently there will not need to perhaps end up being virtually any in the event the internal website link structure is very good.

Page rank play a crucial role in web site like a brand. The more you link the more you appear and also generate more external links which help to rank high.

Belong to many factors, I think they do have a good backlink from a good ranking page.
