Google analytics is nice, though i prefer to just install and host piwik analitics on my own webserver.. i dont want to give all my info just to google

You can use Statcounter. The basic service is free (upto 500 records). You install their html code on your webpage and then you get all kinds of stats (visitor country, IP address, browser, screen resolution, cam efrom, keywords, which search engine, etc, etc). IMHO it is invaluable to get insights into your traffic.

Yeah - try Statcounter. It is a great tool.

Easier to use than Google and faster as well.

I agree with Sam and Gerry, i also used Statcounter. You know what keywords visitors use to find your site, your most popular pages
links used to reach your site, what countries they come from and how visitors navigate through your site.

Google analytics is also a great tool, its always better to have an alternative.

  You can use Google Analytics and Google WebMaster Tools to download the keywords.
  
  Do note that you will need to wait for some time to gather the keywords.
