Have you tried going to the link? If it is not longer there and you can't view the page your websites link was on, you're out of luck.

Just another sign the directory industry is all but washed up. People wasting their time trying to get links in directories need to use their time doing more productive things. The only thing worse than trying to get directory links is creating new directories.

Yes, the rise of free directory scripts where it became easy for anyone and everyone to create free spam-filled directory websites makes many directories worthless. However, there are still plenty of very good, reputable directories around, especially for local listings and niche-specific listings. Anyone doing local SEO takes full advantage of them.

Additionally there are paid for listing directories that weed out all the SEO spammers.

In fact, when I have several clients in the same niche I create a new directory website (using a good, paid-for directory theme) and list them in the directory (it wouldn't be worth the time if it was to create a single backlink). I also make listings in the directory paid for to stop spammers and to even make a couple of bucks from people who find the directory (I wouldn't recommend starting a paid-for directory to make big bucks, but you might make some pocket change from it, even though that's not the reason to create it).

In short, not smart to make the blanket statement of "directories suck."

You are a bit outdated my friend.
Anyway, I am interested to know if you are still getting traffic from it up until now as you were saying?

General directories that offer little value are outdated. Some are just pages upon pages of links.

As the Internet evolves, so do good quality directories. A niche and/ or location specific directory listing can help your customers find you. Some directories offer you a chance to have a dedicated page... With Google maps and social media integration... As well as the chance to post videos or photos of your business.

A Yahoo or DMOZ link used to be highly prized for SEO value. Do they make the Internet a better place? This is a question that we should all ask every time we look at a new link or posting. Googles algorithms are getting really good at identifying value.
