What are you goals for seo in 2015 and what do you expect from Google's next algorithm update?

I plan to solidify rankings for keywords in some bigger niches as I have big plans for this year. Also, from the next Google algorithm update in '15 I expect lots of heartache for content and link spammers. There again, that's not much of a surprise.

Working on a new sub-niche site, root keyword has 33K unique traffic per month. The goal is to dominate that root keyword with multiple ranked pages & double traffic volume (+60K) with organic traffic outside of the SERPs.

    Traffic lure is free downloads.

Affiliate product sells for $25, currently getting about 0.5% conversion rate on a semi-related established domain. Aiming for at least 1% conversion rate on the new domain. If all goes well eventually build out a new/similar product & dump the affiliate commission to double profit with no extra work outside of creating the product which is easy, just time consuming.

No changes as far as SEO, just more of the same silos + decent links...

      My goal is to launch:
      • 1 semi authority site
      • 3 midi sites (same niche)
      • 9 feeder mini sites (same niche)
      • 60 PR3 domains (linking)
      • 25 PR4 domains (linking)
And repeat this set every 2 months so that I dominate 6 niches by the end of this year and a minimum expected income of $30k/month.

Let's see, at least it's a good goal!

You can dream of ... right now first page is acaparate by old sites and any new site will not have any success no matter how many links you will put. If you can rank a new site right now in a least then 6 month please PM and let me know how you do it.

        Succes!

Takes about 4-5 months with the above approach so no need to PM.

The 2 months I mentioned is the time needed for me to get content, buy domains, set it all up, especially the buying domains part is the most time consuming of all, though setting it all up will alsol cost quite a bit of time obvious.

My goal is to see if I can make a few dollars off an Authority niche site I have just been finishing up.

First time at it and I may try Adsense

Not sure how it will work, but I have about 25 siloed pages with about 130 supporting article posts.

See how my luck goes. Maybe I can make what i have spent on this site by the end of the year?

Good luck fellas with your projects..

This is just for SEO right?

Well, primarily it's to identify webmasters with failed (but not spammed) sites and put together reasonable acquisitions for the domains and all content to continue to grow my network for the money sites (or money network in P/E's case) already in play.

I contacted about 30 webmasters with failed sites, eg ranking at page 3/4 for ages already, most didn't respond to my inquiry, the few that did asked $10k+ for their site. Sites with a few dozen pages and no signifciant income or traffic, people are completely out of their minds so good luck with it.

I also started some sales threads asking to buy sites, I wasted a lot of time and it was all total crap that was offered to me despite listing a couple of rules, most spammed link profiles, others hardly monetizable, others spun content or auto generated ecommerce sites and what not, I kind of gave up on this idea.

Perhaps you can get some decent deals if you do mass outreach campaigns.

I typed a reply earlier but apparently it didn't post or a mod got all bent over the new year.

Anyways, the discrepancy between our experiences probably has to do with niche selection and how we select targets.

I would never look for a domain with a ranking page. If a page is ranking then the owner thinks that they "Have something." This is much more true if the page is ranking for a tougher term.

I look purely at the backlink profile and the date of the last published content. I want something that is given up on and forgotten about - but still has some links that make it worth my time.

Additionally, when putting together these types of deals - it's different from domaining through auctions because I'm not just buying the links or name (for branding.) What I'm getting is aged content that is grammatically different from how I write and a site assembled in a manner that is different from how I might intuitively assemble a site. I'm basically buying a perfect 'shadow' to throw a link out from in that it won't fit into any of my assembly patterns that even I may not be fully conscious of when building networks.

That having been said, I typically can close these deals for around $250 or less and have done so over 40 times at this point in just my primary niche. Sure, they aren't skull crushingly powerful domains, but they are completely unique from the rest of my inventory in most cases.

I do the same thing with non-relevant 'name' domains. I know PR is basically irrelevant at this point, but I will use it just for reference. Yesterday I bought a PR5 with a handful of PR6 links and hundreds of PR1+ links for $75. Obviously I'm doing something right.

That having been said, my outreach is also different. I don't use email.

Gotcha, you're looking more into buying sites to function as a PBN, I was looking more into buying sites and give them an extra push to the first page and have them function as money sites that bring in money.

Nah, you just don't get it. Give up already..

You tried buying accounts? Niche forum profiles?

Relevance is a funny old thing.

Happy New Year to one and all.

Really looking forward to law, should be fun. Finally something I might like working in. On the backend of that, world domination is inevitable.

Just looking for sites to rank quickly instead of waiting months before it starts to rank for the main keywords.

Sites that bring in $2k+/mo now took 4/5 months before they really gained traction, way too long.

I'm not even sure what that's supposed to mean?

Niche selection and keyword research are the most important part, more important than links. That's why I stay clear of Amazon I guess, that's some crap commissions imho.

Not impressed. That doesn't count. People with broken and backed up plumbing from using products in that niche will sell for anything to cover the medical bills.

Sometimes it is just nice to help other people reach their goals versus focusing on your own all the time.

I've found that by helping others, my own business grows as well. By cloning myself, so to speak, I have other people I can lean on and share resources with which helps grow my business faster in the end. So there are some selfish reasons in their too.

    • Great topic. Loved the responses.

      Well, here goes nothing..

I like to believe that that I'm better at SEO than an average affiliate marketer meddling in the SEO industry and also excel in Keyword Research.

Therefore, I plan to tackle the weight/fatloss industry this year. It seemed like an obscure idea to me aswell, but I was able to rationalize it when I found a buyer-informative-keyword that gets upwards of 20K searchs/month and and the Long-Tail Keywords it opens into get upwords of 10K aswell.. thats 35K traffic right there - The best part is that only a single site is optimized for that keyword (keyword only in the title and meta) and we're talking about Gnc, Forbes, DoctorOz kind of sites.
I'll dig for more of these un-competitive keywords and optimize my site for that and then try and convert it into an authority site from there on.
On-Site monetization would be through Adsense, Amazon and Affiliate sales.
Off-Site monetization by having the free traffic go through a well optimized sales funnel
Still got ALOT to learn about Authority Sites.. it's a big dream - Let's see how it goes.

Moreover, On a more serious note, I plan to reach out to Local Business and convert them into clients and plan to scale that - Hopefully my age won't be a factor lol

I make a very small amount of money now. A large part of that is because Paypal isn't available in Pakistan and so are some other great services. All my plans are based on the fact that I'll be going to Germany this March for my Bachelors .. That'll give me a window to grow my PBN.. which is REALLY HARD atm (No paypal remember?)

What kind of coaching are we talking about? Affiliate Marketing? Local Clients?
I might be interested in Local SEO.. specially Client Acquisition Techniques.

Test 9 sub niches to test whether or not its worth making into an authority.
Selling those 6 projects at the end of the year for over 100K each and then reinvesting in bigger projects

I will take it a step further and say it's the difference between a hooker and a wife.. both cost just as much, only with a wife you get to keep her forever.
You make that sound like a good thing. That was the reason I was going to cast my vote for choosing the hooker over a wife

I'm inclined to think, you've never been married.

Only way you'd pose the hooker as the lesser, in any analogy.

I will try to think and come up of ways to get as many people to link to my content and share it as possible. I want to do something different from the regular SEO stuff where we try to build all the links by ourselves and try to fool Google. I want to get people to link to me. I am confident I can come up with some decent and creative ideas or plans to achieve this. This would be lot more fun than trying to build link networks, try to cover footprints and do other stuff which I am increasingly getting fed up of.

Another change of strategy for me this year (though it is not related to SEO) is to focus on creating more and more of my own products rather than rely heavily on promoting affiliate offers. The beauty with product creation is that I can continue to promote other people's stuffs in my reports and products on the side besides building my own name and position in the niche.

I am planning on a Micro niche site powered by Amazon affiliate and Adsense. Finding keyword is a bit of task. Will be using LTP and semRush.
Generating at least $10K/month from it.

Lots of thing is going to happen in 2015. As I have double digit projects from starting of the year and have prepared everything on details. Lets see how its going. I would like to go more with onpage SEO marketing than offpage one. Blogging, video and infographic would be main three feathers for me.
