How long before seo effects show results

Lets say I got a couple of high quality back links, how long before google take it into account and re-ranks my site?

Or lets say I do some modest optimization to my site, taking advantage of some keyword term usage to draw new traffic, or add new content, or a little inter-linking. How long before those effects are taking into account by search engines?

Google is constantly changing their algorithm (re-ranking sites). There are too many variables to give you a real answer but I'll give it a shot. I was at #5 for a competitive long-tail keyword, and I decided to change my internal link's anchor text to include this phrase. 2 days later I was #4 for the same search term. Was it because of the change? I think so but have no real proof. It will also depend on how long it takes Google to find the links / changes and index them. But if you are getting good links it usually doesn't take long for that.

There are too many variables to say the answer exactly. But in general, you might see some effect within a few days, but the real benefit is usually down the road.

One example - I was #5 for a long tail keyword. I targeted that by changing my internal links anchor texts. 2 days later I was #4 for the same term. Was it because of my changes? Probably...? Maybe... But like I said there are tons of other factors in play.

There is no quick formula to calculate this time. You only have to wait for it, especially when your website is brand new. It can be anything from 1 hour to 1 month. Keep in mind that search engine indexing and ranking are two different things. Search engines first index your new content then gradually increase or decrease the ranking based upon the quality and the competition. See my signature if you need to know more.

The answer is it depends on a whole range of factors. What I will say though, based upon my personal experience, is that the very worst thing you can do in SEO is try to achieve success in a hurry. Think of it as a work in progress, and adopt a long-term strategy. Good luck.

You can't expect INSTANT results... It can take months to see a ranking improvement. It depends on the niche, the keywords, the QUALITY of those "HIGH QUALITY back links"

Could take hours, days, weeks, or months depending on the quality of the backlinks and the age of a site. Generally, Google starts factoring in any backlinks it finds while determining where to rank your site after the links are indexed. But your site won't necessarily go up whenever Google discovers new links to your site.

SEO game is not an instant result!

You need to consider on how much generic keyword versus main keyword that you use in your link building process. If you follow the rules to rank Google, you will see a good improvement after 2 weeks.

Selling a product or service that is less than a month or two old, you will have competitors who are already ranking well in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). Simply getting on equal ground with them is a task that can take time. Best SEO analyst will need to take time to find out where and what that ground actually is....
