Do You Know How To Create Anchor Link Text?
- SEO |
HTML is short for "Hyper Text Markup Language" and is the code used to build Web pages.
The HTML code you need to make text "clickable" is called anchor link text.
The more links going back to your website the better, to improve your Search Engine rankings. Obviously if your URL is mentioned on Forums, blogs etc it will be linking back to your website. But there is something else you need to consider - Keywords.
A Keyword is the word or phrase that people type in when they are doing a Google Search.
Keyword research and the use of Keywords is a whole topic in itself. For now, all I'm going to say is that within your website your Keyword should appear as Anchor Link Text. This will improve your Search Engine Ranking for THAT KEYWORD.
So, how do you create Anchor Link Text?
If you are using a Web Editor like Kompozer, it's simply a matter of highlighting the text and clicking on the link icon (∞) at the top of the page. Make sure you type in the FULL url (including the http://). Some Forums also give you the option of making a clickable link this way when you are creating your Signature.
However, for times when you are not given this facility you will need to manually add a little bit of HTML Code. To do this simply follow these steps:
1. Add a row of xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx where you want your Anchor Link Text to be.
2. Go to the Source or the HTML Code.
3. Replace the xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx with the following code:
<a href="http://www.yourwebsite.com"target="_blank"> yourtext</a>
NB - Replace www.website.com with your url and yourtext with the text you want to make clickable.
When you Save and then click on the Anchor Link Text it will bring you to your Website - Magic!!
Hope this helps somebody...
