Is any link building service really worth it?

I always struggled with building links. I can't see myself posting into hundreds of forums and blogs or contacting site owners, so for me it was always a challenge.

If I were to hire a link building gig or some "expert" from elance, freelancer, etc, would that be really worth it? what should I need to look into?

Any tip will be appreciated,
Thanks!

I personally did not have very good experience hiring an SEO expert from elance. Having said that, many people I know had great outcomes. In the end, it all depends on your requirements.

Do not buy link building packages. People spend more time getting rid of unrelated links these days than building new links.

You can do link building yourself by becoming an authority in your niche.
Create quality content and be active on social networks. Your audience will build related links automatically if you create great content. Make your content easy to share.

    Ask how they build links.
Stay away from spinned web2.0 content, comments and other shady techniques.

Always prefer natural link building. never buy links as that comes in unnatural behaviour will not be beneficial in long run. Keep high quality and unique content as this will allow other to link back with your site automatically without asking for links.

Well, I would say if you can hire someone who can build links for you in the white hat manner then that would be good but if you hire someone who build your links using tools or something else then that would be a issue why don't you try doing the same thing on your own as I don't think that's a big deal at all !

You must verify each links of your website bade employ (freelancers). Some freelancers making spam black hat links. It will reduce your ranking in google.

  • I apparently have dozens of bad links to my site but have noticed since creating a blog post within my site once a week I've slowly gotten more traffic. Years ago it seems like back links were more important but today I feel like google is more focused on your content, articles and social media.

Depends on what you buy/rent, people can setup a blog network on their own, they can also find someone else to do that for them, nothing wrong with that.

The only thing is that good domains are not always easy to find and aren't available in an unlimited fashion, that's why I personally prefer to rent out my domains instead of selling them.

I have plans to mostly rank my own sites and each time I think I start with it there are a few customers that claim my domains by upgrading their subscription or adding a new site. Afterall I can only buy about 30-40 decent domains per month so it's somewhat of a problem when trying to scale.

Obvious the same applies to people that build private blog networks for you and sell them, take Mike Anthony for example, he already quit selling domains.

It sounds like he sold reasonable domains, can't say that from all the other supposed to be domain brokers that solely rely on garbage metrics. You can't rank shit with that.

So if I have to advice, yes better avoid 99%of the link sellers / renters.

Yes there are services worth the money, but you can't find them on freelancing sites. BUT, they are quite costly $500+ per month, depending on your site and results take several months to kick in.

Link building services are definitely worth it. You just have to find a reliable provider. They're out there, but you just have to find them.

It would help in your search if you understood what it takes to rank. This is not to say that you don't understand, but a person can easily be swindled by a smooth-talking seller whose services are inflated by hype.

The type of link building services you buy may also be dependent on what you are trying to rank. For throw away sites that aren't intended to last long, you can buy relatively cheap, risky backlinks. These serve the purpose of making quick money. You can then use that money as part of a long-term investment in a PBN for sites that you want to have lasting a while.

Don't listen to anyone that tells you not to purchase a link building service. If you don't purchase a link building service, your site will languish in the deeper pages of the index, particularly if your site is a niche affiliate site or commercial in nature.
