Hey guys im new to the game and as im learning about building landing pages I really want to start direct linking. I have a few questions...

1)Will google allow to you direct link? I heard one affilaite at a time but what exactly does that mean?

2)How does direct linking affect quality score? I suppose its got to have everything to do with the product page and how your keywords relate to it correct?

3)how do you properly track a direct linking campaign?

4)are there certain types of offers that work better with direct linking? (email submit vs actual product or monthly products)

5)does direct linking still make money? Is it worth it?

I am currently in PPC coash trying to build my first poll and have hit a road block uploading tracking software to my server so while I wait on a response for that I want to be working towards something. Please help. It will be greatly appreciated and utilized!

i dun think direct linking is worth doing unless you target the product names itself.

Just think relevance. and for PPC target 'buying keywords'.

    all the best!

btw if you are active in PPC, you may want to get yourself Beating Adwords by Kyle and Carson, i think this is good enough to teach you to earn huge sums of ppc cash.

    1.The answer is officially, no.
2.The so-called one affiliate at a time system happens when you are directly linking with your Clickbank/Affiliate id. If you mask it by the usage of redirecting then it shouldn't be affected. That is unless you get manually reviewed by Google and Slapped.
    3. You need to enable Conversion Tracking in Google Adwords. Depending on what you are doing you can then either a) Paste the Code or b) Insert the Google ID into a link generator that the affiliate offer you are promoting sometimes gives. If they don't allow this you can write to them and ask them to add your details to their page so that you can track.
    4. Try and test is the best piece of advice I can give with regards to the question.
    5. The future looks bleak but the content network can be good as can certain small niches i.e. not big general niches such as Spyware, Anti-Virus Software etc. A lot of it is Test and Measure. General the less work required on the part of the consumer the more likely they are to 'convert' i.e. Do an action that results in payment.

Hope that helps and good luck.

I suggest that you read their terms again.

      Of course it's allowed.

Uh, not true. Regardless of what their terms say, I tried this and sure enough they disapproved the ad:

"After reviewing your account, we've found that one or more of your ads or keywords doesn't meet our guidelines."

        and:

        "Inaccurate Display URL"

And I used clickbank.net as the display URL, which matched the target URL I was trying to direct link.

So, obviously Google has put ClickBank direct linking on their disapproved URLs list.

I have found that I dont tend to get slapped on the google content network if I am direct linking.
So this has been useful me in quick testing a niche.

No, you did it wrong. You dont put clickbank in there, the display url needs to be the same as the destination url.

          try doing it correctly.

The thing here is that clickbank.net is not the final URL.

Both, display- and destination-url have to be the final offer landing page, the website where the user sees the actual offer ... and not the URLs from where you redirect to the final offer landing page, i.e. Clickbank.

    1. Wrong. Of course is Google allowing direct linking. I even was encouraged by Google reps to use direct linking instead of my own review landingpage. Officially: yes google is allowing direct linking for affiliates.

One URL per result is correct, and that's why it is really hard to direct-link, because you have a lot of competition. The redirecting & iframing method works better, but iframing has usually problems with cookies in IE. So be careful and test.

The best tracking method is by far using conversion tracking from adwords itself. You have to place the pixel on the final offer payment page. Either your affiliate network can do this (azoogle, neverblue) or you (still) have to do this by asking the merchant or have the merchant asked by the affiliate netowork (clickbank).

    5. I'm currently having my best campaign on direct linking, it makes more than $1,000 a day in sales! So yes, it's worth it! Surely not for all cases, but on almost all cases I think it's good to try and test offers quickly.

I got sick of doing landers and started direct linking everything I run with CPA networks about a year ago, but that was more to reduce the time and effort required to run them than increase ROI. Most CPA offers benefit from a presell.

I've had the most luck with straight sale and longform leadgen. Google won't particularly like you if you're trying to dl people into $1 free trials and incents.

    yes they do.

Direct linking is as it sounds. You supply them a direct link to the source / destination / landing page. Direct linking is sending the visitor to a site, but referred to a site that you do not own.

QS is the same on all sites, regardless of strategy.

QS is only bad if the landing page doesn't really give google the idea of what the site is about or doesn't contain the main factors google is looking for to drive up the QS.

It's not just about the product, or the keywords, it's how useful the page comes across to the visitor. does it have a series of videos? Does it have the word that google frowns upon, ie, free, on the page? Does it have a FAQ? Does it have viewable contact information? Does it show the author on the page? a image, or a video? telephone number, etc?

More one can enhance the user experience, the better chance you have getting a higher QS when it comes to manual viewing / inspection of your landing page, regardless if it;s your site or someone elses (direct linking)

Add a variable to the end of the url, like clickbank allows you to add a TID to track keywords.

all products are different, depends on the targeted audience and niche.

Of course, but to the newbie, I'd start off with your own sites first so you know what works and what doesn't before sending paid traffic to someone elses site.

I use direct linking as a method. If the page is that good then y not use it. If you think it will sell the product. Then the marketers did there job.

Very confused about direct linking from post to post. Is it about using adwords for advertising our site or using adsense instead to place ads with a different format.
