Will this affect SEO in a negative way?

Hey Warriors,

You'll have to excuse incompetence on SEO (that's why I turn to you) but I have a few questions about a website idea I have in mind.

It's a tech directory website, that will contain a lot of outgoing links to big, authoritative websites (such as techspot, techcrunch, tomshardware, techradar etc.).

It will have around 100 pages with roughly 1700-2000 outgoing links. Yes I know, it's a lot. The idea is to gather a lot of tech-related information in a single place.

So my question is, will this affect my search engine traffic in a bad way? How will this play out do you think?

I need to know before I go any further down this road.

Thank you,

-Karl

    Hi Karl,

Generally assuming that you are linking out to authorities in your niche and citing when properly this shouldn't be an issue. Remember to use the no-follow tag appropriately.

Finally, just make sure you aren't scraping as this would probably cause the largest seo issue.

    Nah, again a SEO question.
Read this (A new Search Engine) This may be the main organic traffic source if you are from USA.
Outgoing links make the article loyal and worthy of attracting links back to your one.

If the links are relevant and the site has good engagement then it shouldn't be a problem.

Links to authority sites are positive ranking factor. There is absolutely no need to use no follow. But only this won't help you rank.

If you can generate quality backlinks then there is no problem.
