Yes updating a website should be effect the ranking. If you update the good content on your websites. Frequently updating the homepage does't effect the ranking.

I am sharing with you my true incident...Some days ago..I have updated my post. This post is based video submission sites list...It sends most of traffic for my website. But some days later,i have seen those keyword ranking is drop.... From first to second position...From here what you have learnt...?

We learned that when you make spammy lists without any real content, Google will eventually realize it and penalize the page.

No, Updating website does not affect the ranking in the negative way. Because Google always likes the fresh content. So if you update your site with better ideas and content, it would surely increase your website ranking.

Updating your website is supposed to improve your rankings at best or not do anything at worst. If your rankings dropped after updating your site, you must be doing something wrong.

Yes, search engines like fresh content, but there are websites with only few pages on that still rank. So it's not the only thing to consider. But if you can take advantage of this just go for it !

Hi,

Its based on the quality of your website content (Image, Text, Internal links ) ..if the quality increase it will result in improving on page SEO which in turns increase the rank..If the website content is not up to the mark then it may reduce the rank.
