Do backlinks with no anchor text help a website with SEO?

I am not talking about a backlink that just has the websites url as the link, I am talking about a "backlink" that doesn't have a link at all associated with the website in question. If you go to backlinkwatch.com and type the name of a website a lot of those links that come up have no anchor text associated with the links and when you click on the link I cannot find the url link either. This makes me wonder why they are saying there is a backlink there in the first place. Can anyone tell me if this would actually help this website in the page rankings for a search engine and why these are considered backlinks at all? Thanks.

    Yup! Those are outdated back links which are not helpful for Search Engine Rankings.

    No those links have no value at all. Use software called SEO-Spyglass, idk if its free, but I downloaded it from somewhere a while ago. It checks all backlinks to the website and its value.

    The links you can't find have been lost. Websites lose links all the time. Also, Backlink Watch is not an accurate or reliable backlink checker. I recommend Ahrefs (ahrefs.com).

    Backlinks with no anchor (there must be something else like an image) are not going to help much in SERPs but still they may be useful for sending referral traffic.

    See, all dofollow link will beneficial for Google ranking and it pass the link juice to your site. It depends, where the links come from and how many outgoind link are there.

    No, a website without anchor text in SEO, is not good.Inspite of a lot of efforts in SEO,if anchor text are not put on a focus then there would be no meaning doing high amount of SEO..
