How high DA would be classed as a good link?

I am doing some competitor back link research and wondering which of their links i should actively try and gain as back licks for own website and which i should avoid.

There are some high DA ones which are from article submission sites and then there are some low DA (12 - 30) from niche sites in our industry.

Whats the right approach to take? Try and get links from all those websites, only the relevant ones or only the high DA ones?

I will then be doing the same again for the next competitor etc etc.. gaining links for providing content etc..

IMO you should go for both as you do need authority (from high DA) and relevant (niche specific) backlinks.

If you are building links as per the DA, then you should know once they dropped on the main site. Anyway PA is more important than DA as per my brain.

Some people still concentrating Page rank for link building and still don't know why they are looking for PR sites?

A good DA might should be 20 plus.

I really would not pay attention to the DA much at all. Where your link appears is likely not benefiting much, if at all, from the authority of the home page. Look instead whether it makes sense for your site to have a link on the specific page. Is it relevant? Does it make sense? Then go for it.

DA is just one metric and can be manipulated, so keep that in mind. Links from authority sites and relevant sites should both be part of your link building plan, although article directory links won't provide much value from an seo standpoint. If you are submitting good content for a chance to get it syndicated and a bit of traffic, that's a different story.

If you are choosing between a link from an article directory or niche relevant blog, I would opt for the niche relevant blog.

Relevant websites with decent amount of DA would help you. Always remember, links achieved easily has less or zero value. Links earned in the hard way contains great value.
